Faiz Bhora

Faiz Y. Bhora (MBBS 1992), MD, FACS is Director of Thoracic Surgical Oncology, Co-Director of the Airway Program and Associate Program Director of General Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and Continuum Cancer Centers of NY.  He is Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. He received his General Surgery training at George Washington University Medical Center, his Thoracic Surgery training at UCLA Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Thoracic Oncology Surgery at The University of Pennsylvania.

Faiz officially assumed the role of President of AKUAANA in January 2009. He was President-elect July 2008 onwards and during this time, discussions with Mr. Asif Fancy at the University were underway to establish a robust line of communication with the University. In July 2009, a meeting was held in New York between AKUAANA and AKU representatives to prioritize goals and objectives. AKUAANA was represented by Faiz, and President Firoz Rasul led the University delegation. During the tenure of Faiz Bhora, AKUAANA shaped into a functioning and structured representative body for the AKU Medical College alumni in North America.
