The current Constitution and Bylaws document of AKUAANA is felt by the Executive Committee to be outdated and unable to serve the functioning needs of a growing organization. This is especially important since the main Aga Khan University has grown and has multiple campuses and multiple schools now.
The Constitution and Bylaws Committee and Executive Committee of AKUAANA are recommending ratification and adoption of the attached document titled “AKUAANA Constitution and Bylaws, 2014”. You can view the attached copy of the current Constitution and Bylaws titled “AKUAANA Constitution/Bylaws” as well.
Please see the main changes relating to:
- Definitions of eligible/active members and associate members.
- Eligibility of alumni for election to the Executive Committee and the election procedures.
- Restrictions on the Executive Committee on spending the operating budget and for the lifetime dues to be placed in separate account from the operating budget.
A copy of the document was emailed earlier to you as well.
As a current member of AKUAANA, your vote is required to ratify this version. Please fill out the short survey form below for this purpose.
Online voting will automatically close on August 13th, 2014, which is 48 hours before the AKUAANA Annual Meeting in Washington DC on August 15th, 2014. You can still vote in person at the Annual Meeting itself.
